Charmed.

I wear a charm.  26.2
It symbolizes that I accomplished the marathon miles.
If you had not done a marathon, why would you wear a 26.2 charm?  I would be offended.

Every once in a while, I see an email address that implies the owner has completed the PhD.  Or  someone has business cards representing themselves as Dr.

A ’safe’ point in time, is when alumni is on your record, THEN you can refer to yourself as Dr.

It is not proper to represent that you have accomplished the doctorate at any point prior.
