Security Breach Leads to Class Action Lawsuit
Jason Schossler describes a class action lawsuit that has been filed against Express Scripts related to a hacking incident which resulted in exposure of the personal information of an unknown number of their customers. This incident became known by Express Scripts only after receiving an extortion note from the hacker.
This is an excellent example of the impact a security breach can have on the reputation and financial well being of an organization. This is certainly not the first, and probably not the last time that sensitive information has been stolen and ‘held hostage’.
