Phone Hacks – Back to Our Roots?
It seems that iPhone hacks are one of the most publicized hacks coming out of Black Hat so far this year. Black Hat seems to be a ‘performance’ platform for hackers to get a fair amount of attention for their exploits. The age old argument comes to mind. Is it OK to publicize exploits prior to ensuring that the vendor has a patch available or is a way of making vendors spend time and resources on patches the act of publicizing exploits? What do you think about the ethics of revealing vulnerabilities?
