This opportunity is for students who have an interest in cyber security careers, or who just have an interest in testing their offensive skills in cyber security.

Students MUST REGISTER ONLINE by April 18. There is no cost for participating.

The National Center for Internet Security (CIS) and SANS have collaborated to create CyberQuest, a “capture the flag” competition of intermediate difficulty designed for college students. Participants who do particularly well in this contest are eligible for various scholarship and “boot camp” activities administered by CIS.

IN ADDITION, Advance IT Minnesota in conjunction with business partners of the newly formed Minnesota Cyber Security Careers Consortium, are offering three additional incentives for the top performing Minnesota college students. (Specific eligibility criteria are still being worked out.)

  1. Top ten competitors will be invited to attend the Secure360 Conference as guests of the Consortium and be recognized at the keynote presentation on May 11.
  2. Top five to ten finishers will share a $5000 scholarship fund.
  3. Top 30 competitors will be invited to participate in a mini-boot camp in the Twin Cities this summer that will include involvement of corporate members of the Consortium. Details in progress.

Note: There is no need to register separately for Minnesota incentives.  We are in contact with CIS to identify Minnesota students and results.
