Getting your Course Readings

With the start of each new quarter, there’s always a learner rush to get all of the course readings for new courses.   Sometimes, getting all of those different readings can be complicated.  This is because the readings come from so many different places.  Here’s a quick guide to help you figure it out:

Capella Bookstore (readings to  purchase):

  • Textbooks
  • Coursepacks

Capella Library (readings linked in the syllabus & learning unit):

  • Journal articles

Open Internet (readings linked in the syllabus & learning unit):

  • Websites
  • Articles

Inside your course (readings linked in the learning unit):

  • PDF documents
  • Capella websites (such as the Online Writing Center)
  • Multimedia pieces

Readings come from a lot of different places, but if you make sure you look at the Objectives & Activities for each unit, you’ll see every reading listed there for the week.  And if you can link directly to the reading, the link will be in there.

What if you can’t access your reading? Sometimes links break or readings go missing.  If that happens to you, you can Ask a Librarian and we’ll try to figure out what’s going on.
