Doctoral Institute in DC

  • Summer Doctoral Institute (SDI) for research and study on Institutions & Development is sponsored by George Washington University’s Center for International Business Education & Research (GW-CIBER).
  • Seven to ten doctoral students selected to participate in this program will spend two summer months, from June 1 to July 28, 2010, conducting research in the nation's capital — home to many of the world's most influential institutions. This cross- disciplinary program will facilitate research related to Institutions & Development from the perspective of a broad range of social sciences.

Call for papers: Association of Global Management Studies

The 2010 International Conference of the Association of Global Management Studies (AGMS) provides a platform to discuss challenges pertaining to contemporary issues in management studies. It also fosters multidisciplinary research involved in the development of theoretical and practice knowledge of all business and related fields by researchers, educators, developers, and practitioners.

 

The conference will take place at the Excalibur Hotel, Las Vegas, February 24-25, 2010. Read here for more information on the conference.

Classroom Without Walls: Using Social Media In Training

The advent of Web 2.0 has brought us a dazzling array of free, easy-to-use social networking technologies which can help trainers stay connected, facilitate the growth of learning communities, and help us get into the spaces between formal training events where REAL learning often occurs.

This session provides an overview of several popular social networking sites (including Facebook and Twitter) with ideas for ways of using each to support learning.

Dr. Jane Bozarth's specialty, finding low-cost ways of creating or purchasing quality e-learning solutions, led to publication of "E-Learning Solutions on A Shoestring" and "Better Than Bullet Points: Creating Engaging E-Learning with PowerPoint". Her third book, "From Analysis to Evaluation", was published in 2008.

Low-Wage Workers in the Coming Economy

Join the web conference: “Low-Wage Workers in the Coming Economy."
