Profile: Here is my background in a nutshell: PhD - Wayne State University MS - Central Michigan University BBA - Northwood University PMP - Certified Project Management Professional; Project Management Institute CCP - Certified Computing Professional; Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals I am Core Faculty with responsibility for the specializations in project management for the School of Business and Technology. My background includes multiple assignments in technology, management, and education. Prior to coming to Capella, I was affiliated with a college in Michigan for 17 years as professor in business information technology, director of the masters program in business information technology, and as chair of computer information systems and quantitative methods. Some of my academic accomplishments include designing and implementing a master’s program in Business Information Technology with specializations in Information Assurance and Project Management. Additionally, I have developed curriculum and courses for delivery online and in the classroom. Between the academic work, there were multiple consulting assignments with various organizations. My experience encompasses Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Business Process Management, Technical Project Management and Leadership, and Network Architecture and Information Systems Security, and serving as vice president of international operations and marketing. Primary research interests include project Leadership Practices that provide Extraordinary Results; project initiation practices vs. strategic intent; communication and leadership aspects for determining optimum team composition in virtual situations.
