New forms available for IRB submissions!
Supplemental Form M—Pilot Study Request
A pilot study is most likely called for when you propose to design and validate a quantitative instrument intended for use as part of a larger study or to determine the reasonableness of the anticipated outcomes. A pilot study uses actual participants from the population upon which you are basing your study. If you want to conduct a pilot study, complete this form and upload it with your IRB application on IRBNet. You must gain IRB approval prior to conducting any study (including pilot studies) involving human participants and/or their records.
Supplemental Form N—Pilot Study Conclusion Report
This form allows Capella’s IRB to monitor your research activities to ensure the protections of all human participants, including those who participate in pilot studies. You must submit this form once the pilot study is completed before you can conduct the “real” study. Remember, you must gain IRB approval prior to conducting any study (including pilot studies) involving human participants and/or their records.
Supplemental Form O—International Research
If you want to conduct international research (research outside the United States), you must complete this form for the IRB review. This form will provide the IRB reviewer the information necessary to ensure that international participants are protected and that international laws and customs are respected.
