The Full IRB Committee meets twice a month to review studies which require the full board’s review. A study must be referred at least two weeks prior to the meeting. Prisoner-based research will always be reviewed the third Wednesday of every month.
Many researchers ask, “Does my study require full IRB review?” The answer: It really depends on the nature of the study. During the initial review of the study, the IRB reviewer will determine whether or not a study requires a review by the Full IRB Committee. In addition, the IRB Office will always assist researchers in the IRB process whether it be for an expedited or full review.
